Health & Safety

When you see a Z-Tech jacket on your site you can be sure that the person wearing it is fully Health and Safety trained and is aware of our rigorous processes.

We leave nothing to chance where our staff and your peace of mind are concerned and have produced our own Health and Safety Guide, which outlines our responsibilities and those of our employees when working at your site.

Health and Safety at Z-Tech is driven from the top by a director specially appointed to champion it. Our Health & Safety Director holds a NEBOSH General Certificate and is an Associate Member of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM). All of our senior managers are trained to IOSH Managing Safely and all directors and management conduct impromptu site visit audits to monitor and support our staff.

At Z-Tech our Health and Safety is based on these five core values:

  • Culture - Policy must be driven from the top of the business and managers must lead by example with enthusiasm and respect for a strong health and safety culture.
  • Challenge - Employees are encouraged to recognize and report on non-compliances and failures in Health and Safety systems.
  • Practicality - We believe that Health and Safety policy will only work if it is practical; in other words, systems that are easily understood backed up by the right equipment and resources
  • Best Practice - We participate in a number of schemes with both clients and other service providers within our industry sector to discuss best practice and share ideas. Examples include the 'Rule-one' club which brings together people working in the power industry.
  • Resources - Put simply, staff that are correctly trained and equipped are less likely to have accidents and this means we only deploy skilled tradesmen using high quality equipment.
