£15.00 to £18.00 per hour dependent on experience, Pension, mobile phone and company van & fuel, 40 hours per week

Location: London and surrounding counties We are recruiting for Commercial Installation Electricians to join our growing Projects division. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be undertaking various installation activities across a range of projects.

Candidates must possess high quality practical, productive and electrical engineering skills with adequate technical supervisory knowledge so as to be able to work on their own. You must be proficient in carrying out commercial electrical installation work without immediate supervision, in the most efficient and economical manner. You will be required to develop jobs from drawing specifications and requisition of the necessary installation materials. You will be expected to accept responsibility for the proper and efficient completion of jobs, think on your feet and add value to our customer’s assets and if required, supervise other operatives.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Installation of Power & Signal Cables and associated cable containment (eg installing traywork & unistrut and previous experience of installing SWA cables etc)
  • Installation and commissioning of various electrical and control equipment – Control panels, distribution boards, valve actuators, VSD’s, motors, lighting, instruments etc.
  • Electrical inspection and testing and completion of Electrical test certificates
  • Maintaining company standards and adhering to procedures

Essential Requirements:

  • City and Guilds 2382-12 17th Edition
  • City & Guilds 2391 OR 2394 / 2395 Inspection & Testing
  • JIB/ ECS/ CSCS Card Holder:
  • Valid clean driving license
  • A keen knowledge of 17th Edn Regulations and a good understanding of what is required on industrial/acceptable on water treatment sites

Optional Requirements:

  • CompEx 01-04 Hazardous Area Competence
  • City & Guilds Medium Risk Confined Space Entry
  • International Powered Access Federation (IPAF)
  • Prefabricated Access Suppliers and Manufacturers Association (PASMA)
  • Previous Water/Power industry experience
  • A good understanding of WIMES standards (Water Industry Mechanical Electrical standards)
