Thames Water Emergency Shutdown Replacement

Z-Tech were asked to replace existing Rotork emergency shutdown systems at Thames Water's two East London sludge powered generators. The existing systems were suffering from hardware failure and generating an excessive number of hardware trips.

To ensure the system was compliant with increasingly stringent safety standards Z-Tech selected PILZ UK to supply the hardware and provide third party auditing of the overall system design. Use of the PILZ system also enables Z-Tech to develop an interface to the sitebased Bristol Babcock SCADA system enabling operational staff to analyse trip events.
