Veolia Case Study

Veolia Water manage over 900 meters including Distribution Input, Zonal, Abstraction and Recharge meters. They are predominantly electromagnetic full bore devices.

To comply with licenses a full survey and verification program was completed within a 24 month period. After the verifications were completed, Veolia identified 161 flowmeters that required replacement on a rolling program over 36 months. Z-Tech was commissioned to deliver the project under a framework agreement. Z-Tech has surveyed, designed and installed all 161 flowmeters ahead of schedule.

Flowmeter Installation

Our technical teams can supply, install and maintain the latest metering technology – couple this to our Z-One software centre and you can have a total real-time overview of performance.

We are able to install meters as part of an overall work package, or in isolation. We specialise in flow metering and can advise on the best location for measurements to give accurate flow reading, while also maintaining a safe environment for access.

Our civil engineering team are able to design and construct the meter chamber using CDM management, so safety is paramount.

We offer our clients emergency call out and are able to install meters and fittings at short notice.

We can deal with:

Physical connection/insertion to the water network, taking into account the need to work hygienically and maintain customers’ supplies.
Configuration of the meter and associated telemetry/logging systems.
Verification of the meter.
Electrical certification of the installation. Often meters are installed at the roadside – in all circumstances, the work needs to comply with electrical regulations.

Emergency flowmeter replacement – we hold stock of various flowmeters which enable us to carry out ‘next-day’ replacements in the majority of cases.
Work in the Highway – our teams are trained to excavate in the highway and set-up Traffic Management Systems.
