As a rapidly expanding company, Z-Tech’s leadership and senior management help shape the company's development. We are internally structured under five Directors and one Non-Executive Director. Under this structure Z-Tech is set to grow by nurturing and developing its people.
Michael is the Chairman and co-founder of Z-Tech and has over 30 years’ experience in industrial automation, electrical and mechanical systems.
Before founding Z-Tech in 2000, Michael spent over of a decade with Northumbrian Water maintaining water and wastewater sites followed by four years as Operations Manager for a system integration company delivering automation projects to the UK water industry.
As Chairman, Michael is responsible for leading the Board and focusing on strategic matters, ensuring high governance standards. He plays a pivotal role in fostering the effectiveness of the Board and individual Directors. A proven ‘hands on’ manager, Michael has an innate ability to employ technology to best effect to innovate and improve efficiency for Z-Tech’s customers.
Michael has earned management qualifications from Durham University and holds a HNC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

ANGELA NILSSON, CEO
Since joining the Board in 2017, Angela has been responsible for the strategic direction & day to day running of the business.
She has over 20 years’ experience in operational, project and commercial management in fast paced engineering sectors.
Prior to Z-Tech Angela was a Managing Director with a global engineering firm specialising in electronic and mechanical manufacturing.
Angela holds a BA(Hons) International Business Administration, NEBOSH & APM Project Management qualifications.

In his role as CTO, Jeremy is responsible for implementing health and safety, and environmental standards to ensure the health and wellbeing of our Z-Techers and customers. He also manages Z-Tech’s complex operational IT systems and was the pioneering force behind the development of our workflow software tool, Z-One.
Prior to joining Z-Tech, Jeremy worked at JET and was an integral member of the first team to achieve a ‘breakeven’ Nuclear Fusion reaction; whereby, the energy expended to start the reaction was equal to that generated. This impressive achievement made a significant contribution to proving the viability of Nuclear Fusion as a future power source. Jeremy has also been part of successful software programming teams at Wood Mackenzie and Standard Life.
Jeremy has a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science and Electronics and holds Technician Membership of IOSH (Tech IOSH).

JOHN WHITFIELD, CFO
John joined The Board in March 2017 and has overall responsibility for all things financial within Z-Tech.
John brings with him over 25 years of varied experiences from his time in the Big 4 and Medium Sized accounting practices including 15 years as a Partner.

LUKE STANBRIDGE, COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR
As Commercial Director, Luke leads all Commercial Contracts, Bids/Tenders, Marketing, PR, Advertising and Communications for Z-Tech.
Luke joined Z-Tech in 2011 from Higher Education Marketing. With over 20 years’ experience, he enjoys thinking outside the box, winning awards, thought marketing and getting best value.
With a BSc (Econ) in Economics & Business Economics, he is a MCIM marketing professional and Fellow of the Institute of Water
SUZANNE CARUANA, HR DIRECTOR
Suzanne joined the board in 2020 and has overall responsibility for all things people at Z-Tech.
Suzanne’s focus has been on making Z-Tech a great place to work. Leading the HR and Administrative teams and delivering key strategic projects and initiatives for employee engagement, health, wellbeing and training.
With a BA Honours degree in Sociology and Social Policy, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management, Suzanne brings 7 years’ experience in delivering strategic HR solutions.

MIKE TEMPEST, NED
Mike joined The Board in April 2013 as the Independent Non-Executive Director.
Mike is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
He has over 30 years’ experience in Manufacturing and Operations Management. This includes 15 years’ experience in UK Water Utilities working at Director level in Operations, Engineering / Capital Delivery and Customer Service.
