Z-Tech secures key role in Southern Water's GMES Framework for ATEX and Electrical Services

Z-Tech, a part of M Group Services’ Water Division, is proud to announce its recent success in securing the General Mechanical and Electrical Services (GMES) Framework with Southern Water, for the provision of ATmosphères EXplosibles (ATEX) and Electrical Services.

This contract marks an extension of the 15-year relationship between Z-Tech and Southern Water. The contract officially commenced in October 2023, with an initial term of four years and the option for an additional four-year extension.

Bringing extensive expertise from its dedicated ATEX and Electrical Services business unit, Z-Tech has secured both Lot 3 and Lot 4 within the framework.

Under Lot 3 - Electrical Services, Z-Tech will deliver planned and reactive electrical engineering services. The scope includes electrical installations, design, minor mechanical works, and equipment refurbishment or remedial repairs across various waste and clean water assets. In addition, Z-Tech has secured Lot 4 - EaWR, focusing on the inspection and testing of fixed electrical installations, electrical equipment, and assets in hazardous areas.

Z-Tech has committed to support Southern Water in maintaining safe, operational sites, critical to ensuring compliance with the Electricity at Work Regulations (1989) (EaWR) and Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations 2002 (DSEAR).

Throughout the execution of Lot 4 works, Z-Tech will cover the entire Southern Water estate, addressing Periodic Inspection and Testing (PIT) and Electrical Equipment Testing (EET).

Work will be undertaken by Z-Tech’s dedicated mobile teams, strategically positioned across the Southern Water region, with additional support from its Canning Town Office in London. As the contract progresses, Z-Tech anticipates creating further employment opportunities for locally based technicians.

Callum Cooper, Business Director for Z- Tech, said: “We look forward to a successful collaboration with Southern Water and are eager to contribute to the safety, efficiency, and compliance of their sites. Here's to another chapter in our relationship and the opportunities it brings for both organisations.”
